WHY .... IS IT SO HARD TO RELAX????

I do not know about you...but I know I have a hard time allowing myself to relax. It is like I have to prove my worth, by getting so many things completed. Multi-tasking on steroids!
I think for me it started with my childhood, my mom died when I was only 12, leaving me the oldest at home to care for three younger sisters....I think my childhood may have ended at that moment. The feeling of being free to simply just let go and discover the play of a child.
Life can cause us unending anxiety, then the fact that stress can feel unending with there always work that needs to be done, responsibilities to accomplish and people wanting something from you.
We have a three day weekend coming up...Memorial Day holiday. I want to challenge myself and YOU..to just try to find some moments to truly own for JUST YOU AND TO RELAX!!! It may takes several attempts for me in the 72 hours of the holiday weekend, but if I can just find one hour to call my own and shut the world off...to simply feel myself breathe and exhale with calmness and peace, I will have hit the JACKPOT!
Our quality of life is often related to what we surround ourselves with. Maybe we don't, have to get the dishes done, clothes washed, beds made, meal prep, pick up the items that everyone seemed to forget to pick up, etc...and etc.... Just maybe we can simply say, ok I need to say..."Molly, stop...you don't have to do it all, the world will not end if you take a break and besides, nobody really cares if you do it...and you will not get a trophy for "FOREVER AND ALWAYS BUSY WOMAN OF THE YEAR"!
So, I challenge you and myself to turn off the electronics, get out and actually hear what a bird's song is, to watch as movie, to put off caring about the spider webs in the corner, instead...take your shoes off walk barefoot in the grass, take a bubble bath and lock the bathroom door, or listen to your favorite songs and dance the way your soul needs to feel free, even for just one hour.
LETS DO THIS!
